What projects does Lent Event support?

We support projects in Asia, Africa and the Pacific that provide clean water, education, healthcare, leadership, child protection, small business startups, empowerment for women, and support in a changing climate change. In 2019 we’re featuring projects in Timor Leste, supporting our health education and clinic, and leadership training for the church, with a special emphasis on child protection.

How much of the money goes to people in need?

All the money you give is used to support the building of hope and wholeness among our partners. 75% goes directly to work on the ground; 12% is invested into fundraising strategies that raise money at a minimum of $4 for every $1 invested; 18% is used to make sure that the projects you support are properly administered and accountable.

I’m a church co-ordinator- where do I find resources for my congregation?

Go to “Be Inspired” and click on the link “For Congregations”. You can download all the videos, project sheets and the Prayer PowerPoints for your congregation.

I’ve never done Lent Event before. How do I sign up?

What sort of things could I give up to create change?

Give up takeaway lunch and dinner for 40 days and you could raise $200. Give up sweets, cynicism or social media and ask your friends to sponsor you! Or take up riding or walking to work and save the fare!
